Die zentralen Themen der Gesprächsreihe sind kulturelle Identitäten und gegenwärtige Praktiken des „Otherings“ in heimischen Kulturinstitutionen. In Graz treten Künstler_innen\, Kurator_innen und Vertreter_innen von Kulturinstitutionen in einen Dialog über die regionale Kunstszene und bestehende Prozesse des „Otherings“ und Praktiken des „Dis-Otherings“. \nPodium: Ekaterina Degot (Intendantin und Chefkuratorin steirischer herbst)\, Veronika Dreier (Obfrau Baodo)\, Fiston Mwanza Mujila (Schrifsteller)\, Samson Ogiamien (Bildender Künstler)\, Barbara Steiner (Leitung Kunsthaus Graz)\nModeration: Eva Reithofer-Haidacher \nDieses Gespräch wird in Kooperation mit  Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst veranstaltet. \nJumoke Sanwo aus Lagos/Nigeria hält eine Keynote über kulturelle Praktiken und Identität in Lagos\, die zeitgenössische Kunstszene und über ihr künstlerisches Schaffen als Fotografin und ihre kuratorischen Ansätze. \nAnschließend gibt es ein LiveSet von „Sounds of Blackness“ [a collective of artists\, activists\, producers and djs based in Vienna celebrating cultural and ethnic diversity in Europe through visuals\, sound & dance]. \nVortrag: Englisch\nGespräch: Deutsch & Englisch \nProgramm:\n19:00 Keynote – Jumoke Sanwo / Lagos\n20:00 Gespräch – A self-reflection on cultural identity\n22:00 Party – Sounds of Blackness \nDiese Veranstaltung findet im Rahmen des Creative Europe Projektes “Dis-Othering – beyond Afropolitan & other labels“ statt\, das vorherrschenden Praktiken des „Otherings“ in europäischen Kulturinstitutionen entgegenwirkt. Das Projekt umfasst  eine Ausstellung\, Symposien\, Festivals\, Diskussionsrunden\, Performances\, ein Residency-Programm sowie eine Sammlung zu Diversitätsfragen in europäischen Kulturinstitutionen und einem Webauftritt. \n————– English Version ————– \nA self-reflection on cultural identity \n“Let’s talk about Dis-Othering” is a series of talks taking place in Graz\, Linz\, Vienna and St. Pölten. The project consists of an exhibition\, symposia\, a festival\, talks and performances\, a residency program\, mapping research\, and a website\, all manifesting in 2018 and 2019 in Berlin\, Brussels\, Vienna and Warsaw.  \n
