SUMMARY:LOTLab: How to fall?
DESCRIPTION:Falling in Love. Falling Apart. Falling Short. We all have to fall. As much as we try to exert control\, holding everything in place\, the world is always moving toward disorder and chaos\, removing the ground from under our feet. In this workshop\, we explore what losing control means to us. Is falling a form of failure\, or is it a break? How do we find our ground again? \nWe start the night with a short discussion about “Falling\,” and then Arina walks us through the basics in a meditative and supportive environment. Once we have felt more connected to the sense of letting go\, we experiment with different forms of falling and finding support in each other. This workshop is about experimentation\, and failure is baked into the identity of the evening. \nThroughout the night\, Erfan will create a visual representation of our falls through his camera. \nBut maybe guided falling is not how you work. That is why we have asked Laura to help us with the last step of the night. She will create a dance floor where voices are replaced by rhythm\, and we experience what it means to find our ground under the spell of music. \nCome and experience both support and failure in one evening with us. \nYour hosts: \nArina Grinevich lives and works in Linz. Her artistic practice explores themes of self-identity\, migration\, politics\, human experience\, and the unconscious\, often expressed through dreams. She works across different media\, including performance\, video art\, drawing\, and other experimental techniques. \nErfan Mohajer is a photographer whose work focuses on themes of grief\, loss\, masculine identity\, and isolation. Currently\, he explores these ideas through capturing human body movement and expression. \nLaura Illoldi Davalos (LORENCIA) is a musician and DJ based in Vienna. She creates her sets with the intention of telling stories and evoking emotions. Her work focuses on translating feelings\, experiences\, and abstract thoughts into sound and rhythmic auditory journeys that invite audiences to connect and immerse themselves. \n
