As both Winston & Verena’s movement practice has its foundation within acrobatics it will be a present topic\, however we will be working on many different things so please come prepared with an open mind. \nUsing an interpretation of agility we will work on balance\, strength\, coordination and speed to see how this can be cultivated into both solo practice and partnering situations with the idea to build up a well rounded and adaptive mover. \nThere will be specific work on building and cultivating our proprioceptive blind spots within our physiology and to see how we can build on a sustainable and holistic practice. \nWith this in mind we will be looking at an ongoing research and vocabulary of both solo and collaborative movement situations\, with the attempt of using acrobatics and locomotion as a vehicle to expand our understanding of this strand of movement training. \n——————————————————————— \nWinston Reynolds \nWinston graduated from Circomedia\, specialising in acrobatics & physical theatre (FDA course\, Bristol\, the United Kingdom\, 2010-2012) and went on to complete his Bachelor at ACAPA (Academy of Circus and Performance Art\, Tilburg\, the Netherlands\, 2012-2016). Within this education he specialised in acrobatic dance and contact partnering alongside his partner Axel Guérin.\nThroughout his studies he was guided and influenced by the teachings of Alexander Vantournhout\, who introduced him to several influential teachers and opportunities within the dance and movement community (Fighting Monkey\, Martin kilvady\, Joseph Bartz\, Alexis Simons\, Tomislav English\, Tom Weksler). \nWinston has worked on productions with Florentina Holzinger\, Jan Daems\, Roberto Magro\, Mor Shani\, Nofitstate Circus and is currently in the new production ‚Red Haired Men‘ by Alexander Vantournhout\, which will be touring throughout 2019-2020. \nWinston has an ongoing study and practice informed by Tomislav English\, adapting his methodology Ferus Animi // Terra Nova within his teaching and maintenance as a mover. \nIn 2017 Winston and\, his working partner\, Axel Guerin co-created their own company Ŷeknom with the idea to try to capture and share their ongoing movement training research.\nŶeknom leads dance and research workshops across Europe and have started their o wn work titled: “On silence and other things” (2019-2020) with support from Circuscentrum (Belgium). \nVerena Schneider \nBorn in Austria\, Verena has been pursuing the intensive practice of handstand\, acrobatics and contemporary dance since her studies of circus and performing arts in Italy (FLIC – Scola di Circo) and France (LE LIDO – Centre National des Arts de Cirque de Toulouse). In addition\, intensive training in Brussels with Inaki Azipilaga\, Rob Haeyden (Ultima Vez – Wim Vandekeybus) and Tomislav English (FERUS // ANIMI). Performances and collaborations with in others Collectif Protocol (Paris)\, as well as the group POSTE VACANT (Festival Avignon) and La Discussion (Creation 2018/19) with Cie N/C. In her own works\, she is increasingly concerned with the topics of stagnancy and dynamics and takes\nthem as an impulse to approach psychological and philosophical issues. Verena always works contemporary circus in relation to contemporary dance. In her latest work she also starts to collaborate with fine arts.\nShe currently collaborates with various artists (u.a. Sarah Sternat) and collectives (TANZ*HOTEL Ensemble\, Kumquat Collective) and teaches workshops in different locations\, like Espace Catastrophe\, Katapult\, Die Etage Wien\, Tanz*Hotel\, Zirkushalle Dornbirn\, etc… \n
