DESCRIPTION:The project is an inquiry into Plečnik’s urban interventions. A master in improving public space through specific and rigorous changes in the urban environment\, he was particularly adept at using small-scale design ideas to produce larger positive effects. \nPlečnik connected diverse spatial elements to weave a complementary urban tissue\, which makes cities more complex\, denser and richer. This approach to city planning is today more innovative than ever: contemporary architects reference Plečnik as an inspiration for their projects in public space. The Quito Papers\, a UN Habitat sponsored document on urban planning (2016)\, focuses on the idea of creating complex environments through cross-linking spatial components and urban functions. \nThe evening coincides with the publication of the dossier “Plečnik\, the City and Me” on the open text architecture platform Architectuul. com.
