DESCRIPTION:(DE) \nHände weg vom City Plaza und allen besetzten Räumen – in Griechenland und überall! \nCity Plaza ist eine selbstverwaltete Unterkunft von und für Geflüchtete und ein Solidaritätszentrum in Athen. Hier leben zur Zeit 400 Geflüchtete\, unter ihnen 150 Kinder. Anfang Juni erhielt das City Plaza\, ebenso wie zwei weitere besetzte Häuser in Athen (Papouchadiko and Zoodochou Pigis 119) eine Räumungsklage. \nCity Plaza stellt eine Alternative zu den unmenschlichen Bedingungen in Geflüchtetenlagern in Griechenland wie auch in vielen anderen Ländern in und um Europa dar. Es ist ein Platz für selbstbestimmtes Leben und gemeinsame Entscheidungen der Bewohner_innen. Es bietet adäquaten Lebensraum\, Möglichkeiten zur Selbstversorgung\, medizinische Versorgung und Bildungsmöglichkeiten – insbesondere für die Kinder\, von denen 80 die Schule besuchen. City Plaza ist zugleich ein offener Ort für Solidarität und politischen Aktivismus\, an dem laufend Veranstaltungen\, Versammlungen\, Vorträge\, Diskussionen etc. stattfinden. \nCity Plaza existiert seit April 2016\, als Aktivist_innen ein seit Jahren leer stehendes Hotel besetzten. Seit damals haben über 1500 Geflüchtete dort Unterkunft und Versorgung gefunden. City Plaza wird weder vom Staat noch von großen NGOs unterstützt\, sondern lebt von der Solidarität von Aktivist_innen vor Ort\, von individuellen Spenden und internationalen Solidaritätskampagnen. \nCity Plaza ist mehr als ein besetztes Haus. Es ist ein Modell des solidarischen gemeinsamen Lebens und Kämpfens von Menschen aus unterschiedlichen Ländern\, mit unterschiedlichen Sprachen\, unterschiedlichem sozialen und rechtlichen Status – und dem gemeinsamen Ziel einer Welt\, in der selbstbestimmtes und würdevolles Leben für alle möglich ist. \nCity Plaza ist auch ein Modell für die Nutzung leerstehender Gebäude\, für Lösungen für Armut und Obdachlosigkeit\, die den öffentlichen Haushalt nicht belasten und daher auch in einem Land in einer so schwierigen wirtschaftlichen Situation wie Griechenland möglich sind. Dieses Modell ist nicht neu – es wurde jahrzehntelang in den Niederlanden umgesetzt\, wo bis vor kurzem die Legalisierung von Besetzungen unproblematisch und regelmäßig erfolgte. Auch in Österreich könnte eine solche Lösung viele Probleme mildern. \nCity Plaza ist kein Ersatz für nationale und europäische Politiken der Inklusion von Geflüchteten\, aber es ist ein zentraler Ort\, an dem Möglichkeiten von Inklusion täglich gelebt werden. \nDaher wenden wir uns an die griechische Regierung und Staatsanwaltschaft und fordern:\nCity Plaza und alle besetzten Räume in Griechenland müssen bleiben! \nWir fordern Organisationen in Österreich auf\, sich diesem Aufruf anzuschließen! \nIndividuelle Unterstützungserklärungen können hier abgegeben werden: https://www.change.org/p/hands-off-city-plaza-and-all-squats \nZeigt euch solidarisch\, kommt zu unserer Kundgebung am Karlsplatz! Es gibt Getränke\, Essen und Musik\, bringt auch gern etwas mit! \n(EN) \nHands-off City Plaza and all the squats – in Greece and everywhere! \nCity Plaza is a self-organized accomodation space for refugees and a center of solidarity in Athens. Currently 400 refugees are living here\, amongst them 150 children. Beginning of June\, City Plaza and two other squats (Papoutsadiko and Zoodochou Pigis 119) that are housing people on the move in Athens received an eviction notice by the public prosecutor. \nCity plaza is postulating an Alternative to the inhumane conditions in the refugee camps of Greece and other countries of Europe. It is a space for self-determined living and collective decisions from its residents.bThere they have a living space in dignity\, self-sufficiency in nutrition\, medical care and educational possibilities- particularly for the children from which 80 are going to school. City Plaza is at the same time an open space of solidarity and political activism with frequent gatherings\, discussions\, lectures and events. \nCity Plaza exists since April 2016\, when activists occupied the hotel building that was standing empty for years. Since then over 1500 refugees found a home there. City Plaza is supported neither by the state nor by big NGOs. It survives due to the solidarity of activists\, individual donations and international solidarity campaigns. \nCity Plaza is more than an occupied building. It is a model of people from diverse countries\, with different languages and different social and legal statuses living together in solidarity for a world where a self-determined and beautiful life is possibile equally for all. \nCity Plaza is also a model for the use of empty buildings\, for solutions against poverty and homelessness\, in a country which is in a very bad economic situation. This model is not new. For decades for example it took place in the Netherlands\, where until recently\, the legalization of squatting was a normality. Also in Austria such solutions could help solve already existing problems. \nCity Plaza is not a substitute for national and european migration policies for refugees\, but its a central place in which the possibilities of inclusion become a living reality. \nThis is why we call upon the Greek government and the public prosecutor: \nCity Plaza and all occupied spaces in Greece are there to stay!\nYou can’t evacuate a movement!\nShut down the detention camps!
